Kathryn Irrgang grew up in Birmingham, her home city, and has worked in education in primary and secondary schools across the UK to support Deaf children and older students. She not only managed specialist lessons and organised timetables but interpreted and translated for students learning GCSEs into British Sign Language. She is passionate about encouraging the younger generation to reach their potential and to find ways round problems and hurdles.
Whilst Kathryn was posted to the British Embassy in the Middle East as a Diplomatic spouse, she learned valuable leadership skills in creating events and activities for Diplomatic families abroad as well as learning about safety and well-being in challenging environments.
Kathryn is also a TV presenter with Islam Channel TV and has hosted live studio programmes, podcasts and interviews with politicians, CEOs and Heads of State.
As a mum of six wonderful girls who are mostly grown-up, Kathryn's passion is not only nurturing the next generation but teaching them about Birmingham's fabulous history as she believes that having a strong identity and gaining knowledge about the past and our ancestors, can help springboard individuals into an exciting, secure future.
