4Ward: A Birmingham Cantata

Hundreds of primary school children from across Birmingham will take to the stage at Symphony Hall this summer to celebrate the city’s remarkable history through music, dance and drama.

The Lunar Society is proud to support 4Ward: A Birmingham Cantata, a powerful original production developed by Creative Connections, a Birmingham-based collaborative schools’ arts network.

Created by composer Keith Farr and delivered in partnership with Birmingham Royal Ballet, the cantata tells the story of Birmingham from its earliest beginnings to its emergence as a centre of innovation during the Industrial Revolution. The performance celebrates the creativity, diversity and pioneering spirit that have shaped the city for generations.

The story of Birmingham's rise as a centre of innovation holds particular significance for the Lunar Society. Many of the city's greatest pioneers, including James Watt, and Matthew Boulton, helped shape the Industrial Revolution through their ideas, inventions and collaborations.

The performance takes place at 2.30pm on Monday 29 June at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

Tickets are available to the public and cost £6.50.

You can book your place here: https://bmusic.co.uk/events/4ward-a-cantata-for-greater-birmingham

The event promises to be an inspiring celebration of Birmingham’s past and future, told through the voices and talents of the city’s next generation.
