Andy Street, Chair of Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership and Managing Director of John Lewis, will be the key note speaker at The Lunar Society’s Annual Dinner on Thursday 29th October, at The Venue in Edgbaston.
Mr Street’s keynote speech is expected to expand on the thinking around the so-called ‘Midlands’ Engine’ – balancing the ‘Northern powerhouse’ and helping to draw spending and power from Whitehall to this region. He is also expected to reflect on the opening of the new store and its impact on the retail economy, as Andy has spent his career at the John Lewis Partnership, which has invested £35m in its new Birmingham store opening in September.
Lunar Society Chairman Alan Wenban-Smith, said: “We are delighted that Andy Street will be principal speaker at the dinner. We are keen to hear from the Chair of the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP), the body tasked with driving economic growth in the region. “
The event will also see the presentation of the prestigious Lunar Society Medal, awarded for outstanding achievement by an individual, in contributing to the aims of the Society and the furtherance of the social, cultural and economic life in the West Midlands region.
Tickets are priced at £45 for members and £55 for non-members or tables of 10 can be booked at a rate of £450 for members and £550 for non-members.
The Dinner is the highlight of the Society’s calendar and last year attracted almost 200 guests. For more information or to request a booking from please contact The Lunar Society
