The New Optimists: invitation to the launch dinner on 14 September

Society Members are invited to the official launch of The New Optimists: Scientists View Tomorrow's World & What It Means To Us, a celebration dinner co-hosted with the British Science Association on Tuesday 14th September at Birmingham  Botanical  Gardens.

Described by Jenny Uglow in the Foreword as "the most exhilarating of books", The New Optimists is by leading scientists in the region and gives a refreshing and positive vision of the future. Many of them will be at the dinner, as will Jenny Uglow herself and editor Keith Richards . The BBC's David Shukman will speak, and the Ben Markland Quartet with Sara Colman have been commissioned to create a composition in the moment under the direction of the diner audience.
