Sad Death of Anthony Hockley
It is with deep regret that we note the recent, unexpected death of Lunarman, Mr Anthony David Hockley, Consultant in Neurosurgery at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Tony had been a member of the Society since 2002. He was also Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and past President of the International Society for Paediatric Neurosurgery. Tony had a national and international reputation for his work in establishing the Unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital , and although officially retired took an active role in mentoring and supporting many young neurosurgeons. On behalf of the members of the Society we send our condolences to his family.
A piece that was written about Tony recently in recognition of his huge contribution to Paediatric Neurosurgery by his international peers is available here
