Universities at Discussion Dinner with Society's Climate Change Group
On 2 July 2007, senior representatives from all the region's universities met the Society's Climate Change Group with the current Chair, John Charlton and Vice-Chair, Professor Deirdre Kelly, at a Discussion Dinner kindly hosted by Mills & Reeve.
The purpose of the evening was to explore the distinctive contribution that our universities can make, by virtue of their fund of scholarship, knowledge, energy and skills, to the region's aim to be carbon neutral by 2030, and what carbon neutrality will mean for our community and for societies in the wider national and international context. The briefing document for participants can be downloaded here.
A report of the discussions is being drafted for circulation among participants at the end of the month, and a final version will be made available to Society Members soon afterwards.
