Tindal Street Press authors up for international writing awards


Birmingham-based publisher Tindal Street Press has two authors shortlisted for the 2010 Commonwealth Writer's prize.
Anthony Cartwright is up for Best Book in the South Asia and Europe region for Heartland, a contemporary fiction weaving together football and far right politics in a multicultural Black Country town.
Mez Packer's Among Thieves is shortlisted for Best First Book in the South Asia and Europe region. The countercultural thriller moves from 2-Tone Coventry to Spain, Albania and India.
The regional finalists will be announced in Asia with the two overall winners announced on April 12 in Delhi.
