BMI Celebrates the anniversaries of Dr Johnson, Handel and Purcell on 25th September
On Friday, 25th September the Birmingham and Midlands Institute will celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Dr Samuel Johnson, the 250th Anniversary of the death of George Frederick Handel and the 350th Anniversary of the birth of Henry Purcell.
Starting at around 13.00, the programme of events will consist of chamber music and dramatised readings from the writings of Dr Samuel Johnson. At 16.00, the entertainment will be followed by an eighteenth century themed buffet.
