2009 Annual Boulton and Watt Commemoration Lecture by Professor Julia King
The Annual Boulton and Watt Commemoration Lecture took place on Thursday 17th September when Lunarwoman Professor Julia King, author of HM Treasury King Review and Aston Vice Chancellor spoke on Sustainable Technologies for Transport at Aston University. Alan Wenban-Smith, Chairman of the Lunar Society Transport and Climate Change sub Committee, chaired the Lecture. Please click here for his reflections. Esther Boyd, Lunarwoman attended the Lecture, click here for her thoughts.
Drawing on the conclusions of the King Review of low carbon cars and the work of the UK’s Committee on Climate Change, the lecture focused on the vehicle, information and fuel technologies, which could deliver the 80-90% reduction in vehicle emissions that will be required to meet our 2050 targets. Our thanks to Aston University for hosting the event.
