Summer Social 2009: Dr Mike Hodder Archaeological tour of Sutton Park
On Thursday 2nd July at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, we took a tour of Sutton’s Park archaeological sites and finds led by Dr Mike Hodder, Birmingham City Council’s Planning Archaeologist. Mike was born in Sutton Coldfield and has been involved in the archaeology of the area for many years. Sutton Park is an exceptionally well-preserved historic landscape, and the national importance of its archaeological remains is reflected in the designation of most of it as a scheduled ancient monument.
