Elnora Ferguson's funeral held on 29th December 2008
It is with sadness that we report Elnora Ferguson's death, suddenly while at home. Her funeral will be at 1230 on 29th December 2008 at Lodge Hill Crematorium. There is likely to be a Memorial Service to her towards the summer when friends from overseas will be able to come.
Tributes to her have come from Society Members, many of whom remark on her quietly effective gentleness coupled with her sharp, well-read mind. A close friend of hers said "she was a remarkable woman who had had a fascinating life . . . her stories of life in Nigeria and the USA not to mention being in on the start of the Open University and of course the Selly Oak Colleges, were fascinating. She was very proud of the fact that she and her husband were banned from apartheid South Africa."
