2008 Boulton & Watt Commemoration with the Bishop of Birmingham

He spoke on Reflections on 18 months in Birmingham, and the event was chaired by Peter Ullathorne. The Society is grateful to Canon Brian Hall, Area Dean of Handsworth, for his kindness in hosting this event.
David Urquhart was inaugurated as the 9th Bishop of Birmingham in November 2006 following the appointment of the previous Bishop, John Sentamu to be Archbishop of York. With his early career in BP, our current Bishop-to-be trained for the ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and was ordained in 1984. After serving in Hull, he became Vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Coventry in 1992, and then was appointed Suffragan Bishop of Birkenhead in 2000. While at Birkenhead, he was appointed the Archbishop of Canterbury's envoy to China. He is also Prelate of The Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George and holds the Freedom of the Borough of Wirral.
